Lions Club meetings on the first Wednesday at 6:30 are being held in person at the Amphora Diner in Herndon. Third Wed. meeting is virtual for those who prefer to attend that way.

The Lions Mission

The Lions International Mission Statement is clear: To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Our Global Causes focus the efforts of Lions and Leos on five service areas with the goal of tripling our humanitarian impact by serving 200 million people per year by 2021. Those areas include: Diabetes, Environment, Hunger, Childhood Cancer and Vision. Our Global Causes complement all of the great ways clubs serve locally, and gives Lions and Leos new opportunities to help meet the growing challenges facing humanity.

WINTER IS HERE!

. . . and the Reston Lions are active in the community. The Club officers and I hope that you will enjoy the variety of events and organizations that we are continuing to support and impact in the Reston, Herndon, and Great Falls communities.
We have a few events coming up as we enter a busy time in our year and new beginnings and opportunities for the Lions to be in the community. We just completed our Annual Citrus Sale in early December and the Annual James Bland Music Scholarship Competition is coming up on February 13. One of our contestants advanced to the State Finals last year. Our Annual Texas Hold'Em Poker tournament was rescheduled.

If you are interested in joining Lions, check out the website and see what may interest you and how you can contribute--either through membership or by making a tax deductible donation to the club. There are many ways you can support a club that has been active in the community for over 50 years and supporting great causes including Vision, Hunger, Diabetes, the Environment, and Childhood Cancer.
